Historic Katterskill High Peak (7/22)
Once thought to be the tallest peak in the Catskills due to its prominence on the Escarpment, this beautiful mountain provides amazing views of both the Hudson Valley and the Catskill interior wilderness. Technically trail-less, we know the herd path routes that skirt the worst of the nettles and the steepest of cliffs, which also makes this hike an excellent first bushwhack if you’re interested in learning more navigation skills. We'll look for the site of one of two old plane crashes on the mountain. Plus, this mountain is teeming with blueberries in mid-summer.
