Housatonic River Foliage Canoeing (10/15)
10-12 miles of mostly mellow paddling thorough through the forests, farmlands and quaint towns of Litchfield County, CT--in their Autumn finest! The mostly fast, flat water, means we move with minimal effort--plenty of time to fish, soak in the sun and foliage and look for birds, turtles & other wildlife. There are a few stretches of whitewater that will get the heart pumping; exciting enough to please the thrill seekers but manageable for everyone--especially with a rack team of river rat guides supporting you!
We’ll enjoy an especially luxurious riverbank lunch--with the river carrying our gear, we can pack heavy! After taking out our canoes in Housatonic Meadows State Park in the late afternoon, we’ll have time to explore the quaint, historic town of Kent, CT before heading back to NYC
In normal conditions, this adventure is rated--Moderate (no experience needed)
