Slide Mountain Slam (10/21-22)
On one of our most challenging backpacking trips of the year—second only to the Devil's Path—take on 18.5 miles of challenging hiking up and over four mountains through the old-growth forest along the Slide Mountain Wilderness.
Climbing four peaks (Wittenberg, Cornell, Slide, and Panther) in two days, including the highest mountain in the Catskills, the strain is worth the panoramic views from Mount Wittenberg, scrambly cliffs of Slide Mountain, and the infamous Cornell Crack. With Panther and Giant Ledge added on for good measure, this trip will take you through incredible forests during peak foliage with a splendid night in the woods, enjoyed with great food around the campfire in perfect fall weather.
Cardio Intensity: Very Challenging.
Terrain: On trail, a few scrambling sections that require using hands for balance. Significant elevation gain.
Most trips will depart at 6:30am near the Barclays Center and 7:00am near Grand Central. You will be notified in advance if departure times and locations differ for your trip.
