Children of all ages blossom in the outdoors. It is incredible to see the transformation in a family after a day, weekend, or week spent together in the wilderness. Learning new skills like filtering water and fire building and overcoming the challenges of hiking foster self-confidence in children. Plus, the woods are a source of endless fun! We love seeing children discover wildlife, emerge from a hike to see a stunning viewpoint, and learn how much they're capable of in the outdoors.

Before your adventure: Our expert guides will work with you to create your ideal family getaway, so you can enjoy your time in the outdoors without the stress of trip and meal planning and logistics. Drawing on our years of experience traversing the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and Adirondacks, we'll work with you to choose the right location for your goals and priorities, whether that's star-gazing, fishing, canoeing, backcountry skills, fire-building, map and compass skills, or whatever else you might wish! We will provide guidance on what to pack for your adventure and will help you secure any specialized gear at no or low cost to you. We have taught countless families how to enjoy the outdoors, most of whom had no or little experience camping or hiking before their adventure.

During your adventure: Our guides will carry all of the required group gear and food for your adventure, so you can focus on spending time with each other. Some families prefer to participate in camp skills like fire building, while others prefer to spend their time in camp relaxing and enjoying each others company away from the stress of everyday life. Our guides will prepare fresh, gourmet meals and keep you fueled and hydrated throughout your time in the woods. Depending on the size of your group, your trip will be led by at least one licensed NYS guide and apprentice, who will keep you comfortable and safe on your adventure.

Extended family multi-night camping, canoeing, and fishing trip with kosher menu: We worked closely with a grandfather to plan a four-night camping and canoe trip for his eight grandchildren in the deep wilderness Adirondack wilderness. The children enjoyed swimming, fishing, and canoeing while bonding, learning valuable skills, and star gazing each night. The guides maintained a kosher menu for the family while still offering filling and delicious meals for all of the adults and children. Over many years of running this trip, the older children now help teach the younger children backcountry skills while on their adventure.

Mom and daughter camping overnight: When her ten-year-old daughter told her mom that she wanted to go camping, she contacted us to plan a learning camping trip. Over the course of a few backpacking overnights, the pair learned how to hike, read a map, set up their gear, cook over a stove, and build a fire, as well as how to plan a safe and exciting adventure. They have now car-camped and camped in the forest together on their own!

Children's forest birthday party: This fun-filled birthday celebration in the forest included canoeing, archery, hiking, and cake and hot cocoa around the campfire. We chose a location ideal for exploration and convenience for the guests ranging from infant to grandparent.
