We kicked off the Summer of 2016 in epic style this past Memorial Day Weekend; hiking, canoeing, yoga in the woods, camping and bushwhacking deep wilderness! 

Saturday's group of day hikers experienced one of the finest day hikes in NY when they climbed Mt Wittenberg, a perennial favorite! 

Also on Saturday, Dave and a group of 6 headed out deep into the Slide Mountain Wilderness for a 3 day, 5 peak trip. They explored and camped in an old growth forest, miles from the nearest trail and climbed 2 of the most remote peaks in the Catskills, Friday & Balsam Cap, neither of which has a trail! Sunday's adventures were of a more mellow nature; a group headed up to gorgeous Litchfield County, CT for a day of canoeing and yoga--though not at the same time! Our paddlers enjoyed a serene day on the Housatonic River, an adventure we run with our friends at Upstate Adventure Guides. Our next paddle is an exhilarating whitewater rafting trip on June 11!  

While this crew above paddled the river, these ladies below reconnected with Mother Nature while enjoying a Vinyasa practice and hike through the foothills of the Berkshires. 

 They even saw a rare wild orchid! The Pink Lady Slipper! Our next Holistic Retreat is on June 12 and will be in an old growth forest! 

 Sunday's crew of Day Hikers left the rain in NYC and enjoyed a gorgeous day on the tallest peak in the Catskills, Slide Mtn. 

Not long after Greg and the day hikers reached the summit, Dave and his crew of overnight hikers emerged from the woods and joined up for lunch, the hike back down to Big Blue and a great post hike meal at Hickory BBQ!
