Catskills 3500

Our founder David DiCerbo draws a straight line from the day he hiked his first Catskill 3500 peak (while still in his corporate days) to becoming a guide and ultimately starting Destination Backcountry. The challenge of hiking all 33 of the highest peaks on state land in the Catskills is physical, mental, and emotional. The rewards, equally so. Completing your Catskills 3500 fosters a closer connection to nature and the feeling of tangible, physical accomplishment so often missed in the modern world.

Each of the hikes in this series summits at least one of the required Catskill 3500 peaks for the Catskill 3500 club. Be sure to also check out our bushwhack collection for off-trail peaks.
