The Finest Team of Outdoor Professionals Based in NYC
David DiCerbo, Founder and Head Guide
Dave left a successful, but unfulfilling, career as a publishing executive in 2008 in order to devote himself to his passion for the outdoors. He lives to share his favorite wildernesses with others and help them form a closer relationship with nature. He is an experienced outdoor professional with thousands of miles and many years guiding in some of the most rugged and scenic wildernesses of the United States under his boots. Dave also sits on the Board of Directors of the NY State Outdoor Guide Association. He is an avid fisherman and backcountry gourmet, and is thus feared by trout in brooks and streams everywhere. A licensed NY State Outdoor Guide, Dave is Wilderness First Aid certified, and the only guide based in NYC who is a member of the exclusive Catskill 3500 club, having climbed every peak in the Catskills. A Brooklynite, he’s incredibly excited to be guiding based in NYC that he may share the beauty of his home state with those who need it the most!
Baptise Elhorry, Hiking Guide
Baptiste is a native of the Pyrenees Mountains in the south of France, where he grew up spending all of his weekends hiking, backpacking and peak bagging. During his time off, he would often volunteer as an assistant guide in these rugged mountains. When Baptiste moved to New York a few years ago, he felt both extremely excited about discovering the great city, and a bit anxious about leaving the outdoors. When he discovered the never ending beauties of New York state, its pristine lakes and magnificent forests, he knew that he had found a place he could forever call home. A few months later he became a NY State Licensed Hiking and Backpacking guide to share his love for Nature with others!
Greg Wilson, Hiking Guide
We first encountered Greg during an extended bushwhack deep in the Slide Mountain Wilderness; he rolled out of his hammock and started a proper flint and steel fire to offer a warm welcome and has been part of the DBA team ever since. Greg is committed to introducing the outdoors to people who desire a fresh perspective on New York City life. He believes that a balance between these two extremes is an opportunity to not only fulfill one's thirst for adventure, but also to challenge oneself to think outside the borough box. Greg is a NY DEC licensed guide for backpacking, camping, boating and fishing, sits on the NY Guide Association's Board of Directors and co-owns Freestone Expeditions, offering custom fly-fishingtrips deep in pristing Catskill headwaters. Oh, and he makes a pretty good beef jerky.
Brad Winer, Hiking Guide

Brad is an Adirondack 46er and a member of the Catskill 3500 Club. Brad has lived and traveled all over the world pursuing his passion for hiking and climbing. He is now based in Brooklyn, where he constantly evangelizes about the rewards of getting out of the city and experiencing the world-class wilderness opportunities available in New York State.

Jessica Tackett, Director of Communication
Jessica left the flat plains of Chicago for New York City and was pleasantly surprised to find the Catskills so close to her new home. She first discovered a passion for the outdoors after ascending a mountain outside of Chengdu in China. She has since continued her pursuits learning survival skills, hiking the Devil’s Path, dodging hungry monkeys outside of Hong King, and ascending volcanoes in Guatemala. Beyond her personal pursuits, Jessica brings a joy for helping others discover new passions as an assistant guide, especially newcomers to the backcountry.

Ian Cleary, Assistant Guide
Ian fell in love with the outdoors when he joined the Outdoor Adventure Learning Housing Community during college. Throughout this time, his passion for the environment increased as he hiked, skied and learned outdoor survival skills such as flint napping, tracking, and friction fire. After completing his degree, he joined AmeriCorp as part of the Vermont Youth Conservation Corp to help maintain and converse the state parks in Vermont. For the past year has transitioned from conservation to outdoor education where he found his passion in teaching students, many of which are low-income students from New York City, how to love the woods as much as he does. Ian is a licensed Wilderness First Responder and has logged many hours living and hiking in the wilderness.
Claudia Mena, Assistant Guide
Claudia's passion for the outdoors and nature peaked after her first hike at Breakneck Ridge Trail in the summer of 2016. She had always enjoyed connecting with nature and exploring unknown places, but that was her first time hiking in the Hudson Valley and on her own. This hike opened up a world of possibilities and allowed her to continue to pursue what truly fulfills her. She is very excited to become an assistant guide tour to be able to share her love for nature, and travel with others. She hopes to inspire people to do what their heart desires, and to explore as much as possible. Claudia is also an active cyclist, loves cooking, and practices yoga.

Zack Thomas, Assistant Guide
Zack cut his teeth as an outdoorsman hiking the foothills of the southern Appalachian mountains in Tennessee and Kentucky. Upon moving to New York, he realized just how important that nature to him, and how much he had taken it for granted living in the south. He's excited for any chance to get out in the wilderness and especially enjoys sharing it with others. When he's not out in the woods he spends his free time writing poetry and playing guitar.
