Tubes & Brews — A Lazy River Escape from NYC

Sun, river, cold beer, and absolutely nothing on the agenda

New York City is a lot. Your inbox is full. The subway is a packed sauna. So we're doing what any reasonable adult would do; float down a river and drink beer.

This is not a hiking trip. This is not a wellness retreat. This is a sun-soaked, tube-in-hand, cold-beer-at-the-finish-line kind of day, hosted by Albear, who has perfected the art of doing nothing beautifully. You'll float the river, break to enjoy a gourmet BBQ cooked fresh river side, and cap the day at a craft brewery. Bring your most chaotic friend. Leave everything else behind.

What happens after I book my adventure?
You’ll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Your guide will follow up 7–10 days before your trip with trail conditions, weather updates, a final packing list, and more.

    Most trips will depart at 6:30am near the Barclays Center and 7:00am near Grand Central. You will be notified in advance if departure times and locations differ for your trip.

    Yes! Your adventure includes a breakfast of fresh fruit and donuts and a selection of coffee and tea for the drive to the trailhead. We will provide a healthy, gourmet lunch and snacks during our adventure. We offer vegetarian and vegan options, and we’re happy to accommodate any dietary and allergy needs.

    We will provide a detailed packing list based on conditions before your adventure. Below is a sample packing list:

    - 2, 1-liter water bottles
    - Rain gear
    - Headlamp
    - Sunglasses
    - Extra layer of clothes
    - Hat
    - Wear: Comfortable, breathable clothes. Standard workout clothes are great for canoeing
    - Footwear: Sturdy sneakers or boat or water shoes.

    Your guides will provide all group gear (water filter, etc.), and all canoe and kayaking gear is included. We do not require any specialized gear for our day adventures, and you most likely have everything you need already. We’re happy to answer questions and offer advice to ensure you have everything you need.
