LinkedIn Fall Adventure Day in the Catskills 2024!

Join us for a day of adventure in the Catskill Mountains on October 5th!

Our day will include a variety of hiking options, from gentle to super strenuous, with plenty of time for bonding, exploring, and enjoying some downtime in the beauty of the Catskills. New Routes for 2024!

We'll also enjoy a post-hike stop in the quaint and walkable Village of Catskill, home to two breweries and a cidery, all within a half mile radius, it's the perfect place to refresh before hitting the road back downstate.

Our professional outdoor guides will serve a delicious, healthy lunch with vegan and vegetarian options and we'll have snack options such as assorted trail mixes and granola bars available throughout the day.

Itinerary

7:00am: Meet at the LinkedIn HQ to board 15-person vans for the ride upstate. We'll have coffee, tea, donuts, granola bars, and fruit available for breakfast. Driving time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a rest stop.

~9:30am: Arrive at trailhead for a great day in the woods

~3:30pm: Return to trailheads to board vans to head into the Village

~5:00pm: Board vans in town to head back to NYC

~7:30pm: Drop off at LinkedIn HQ.

Hike Challenge Levels

When you register for the hike below, please choose your preferred hike level.

Gentle: For a very mellow day in the woods with the least amount of hiking (less than 5 miles) and plenty of time to take photos and sit and enjoy the scenery, this is your route!
Moderate: This hike will include ~5 miles of hiking at a gentle and easy pace.
Challenging: For a slightly more physical day, choose this option. We'll hike at a brisk pace, but with plenty of time to stop and enjoy viewpoints and scenery.
Strenuous: We'll take on a big hike at a fast pace with challenging terrain and/or elevation.
Super Strenuous: Our most challenging hike of the day will be fast paced and take on big miles—up to 10+. This option is for anyone who wants a big physical challenge.

Packing list

We'll be in touch to share more details about the hiking options, a packing list, and more. No specialized clothing, footwear, or gear is required. You can see our standard day hike packing list on our FAQ page.

Your guides will handle all group gear, including safety, sanitation, water filtration, etc.

What are the departure times and locations?

Most trips will depart at 6:30am near the Barclays Center and 7:00am near Grand Central. You will be notified in advance if departure times and locations differ for your trip.

Are meals included?

Yes! Your adventure includes a breakfast of fresh fruit and donuts and a selection of coffee and tea for the drive to the trailhead. We will provide a healthy, gourmet lunch and snacks during our adventure. We offer vegetarian and vegan options, and we’re happy to accommodate any dietary and allergy needs.

What do I need to bring with me?

We will provide a detailed packing list based on conditions before your adventure. Below is a sample packing list:

- 2, 1-liter water bottles
- Rain gear
- Headlamp
- Sunglasses
- Extra layer of clothes
- Hat
- Wear: Comfortable, breathable clothes. Standard workout clothes are great for hiking
- Footwear: Sturdy sneakers, trail runners, or hiking boots. We’ll let you know well in advance if conditions call for special footwear.

Your guides will provide all group gear (water filter, etc.). We do not require any specialized gear for our day hikes, and you most likely have everything you need already. We’re happy to answer questions and offer advice to ensure you have everything you need.

What happens after I book my adventure?

You will receive a confirmation email for your adventure within 24 hours of booking. Your guide will reach out 7-10 days before your adventure with an update on trail conditions, weather, a suggested packing list, and more.
