Corporate and Nonprofits Customized Adventures
Our team has worked with dozens of companies to create customized wellness, team-building, and skill-building adventures for groups small and large, including 100+ people.
Outdoor adventures provide your group with the opportunity to connect in a restorative, beautiful environment away from office and city stress. Instead of virtual happy hours and Zoom team-building calls, an outdoor adventure is a safe place for people to meet face-to-face and communicate in a natural, easy way while hiking through gorgeous forest surroundings.
Overnight adventures: In addition to day hikes, we specialize in overnight adventures that allow for in-depth skill building and training while also incorporating time to bond around the campfire. One of our most popular itineraries is our survival school overnight featuring lessons on the psychology of survival, which is applicable in almost any work environment. We incorporate bushcraft skills into our survival school, including making a fire without matches and survival shelter-building, and can tailor the trip to be as rugged, or not, as you like, so everyone can have a comfortable camping experience. Other overnight trips focus on collaboration, innovative thinking, risk assessment, and more, taught through fun and empowering hands-on outdoor skills.
Planning: Our guides will work with you one-on-one to create the ideal itinerary for your group's needs, whether you're planning a large-scale day adventure for your whole organization, or an overnight trip for your management team.
Itinerary: After refining the goals and intention for your outdoor adventure, we'll provide a list of potential locations pulled from our extensive knowledge of trails in the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and Adirondacks. Our guides will acquire all required permits and licenses for your trip. We'll finalize your itinerary for the day, including programming and any transportation and food needs.
Before your adventure: We are happy to handle all communication with your employees. We can provide a link where your employees can reserve their spot on the trip and keep track of the guest list. We will provide a schedule for the day, suggested gear (no specialized gear is required!), and answer any questions your employees have. Depending on the group size, we may be able to arrange a virtual or in-person meeting with your group before the adventure to answer any questions.
During your adventure: Your trip will be led by a combination of experienced licensed lead guides and apprentices-in-training depending the on the size of your group. We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming, safe environment for all of our adventurers, no matter their experience level, including allowing everyone to hike at their own pace. If meals are included in your trip, our guides will serve a beautiful spread of fresh healthy food and provide snacks to fuel your employees throughout the trip.

Team-building day hike and brewery visit: After hiring dozens of new employees during the pandemic who had never met in person, we organized a day of hiking and bonding for a corporate group of over 100 people. Each person had the option to choose an itinerary ideal for their comfort level, skills, and interest, with options for a Gentle, Moderate, Challenging, and Strenuous hike. The hikers had a chance to bond in a small-group setting on trail, and then reconvene with larger groups at local breweries and restaurants for a chance to bond across teams and divisions within the company.
Survival school overnight: A Vice President of Sales wanted to provide his sales manager with a meaningful skills-building experience outside of the office. We organized a survival school overnight with team-building activities like building survival shelters, as well as lessons in psychology of survival and risk assessment. Removed from their typical environment, the team bonded while learning valuable skills they could apply to their daily sales work, as well as feeling a renewed sense of camaraderie.
Our pricing depends on the size of your group, optional transportation and meals, and your itinerary. We have worked with small nonprofits, large corporations, and every size in-between and are happy to work with your to create the ideal trip for your budget. We provide pricing quotes during the initial planning stages of your adventure.

"Our team is always looking for innovative ways to enhance our leadership skills. Over the past 4 years, we have partnered with Dave and the DBA team to learn valuable lessons like collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Our group loves being out in the wilderness away from day-to-day distractions so they can focus on the task at hand. We always walk away with practical skills that we can put the test immediately. We also walk away with some great stories and memories that will last a lifetime!"
